April 9, 2019 - Grand Prairie (Texas) – With their second game of the Spring Season, both Irving FC (1-0-1) and Kernow Storm FC (1-0-1) wanted to topple the other as they both looked for a head start against the others in the UPSL Central Conference – Pro Premier – North Division.  Ultimately the game finished with a result of 3-2 in Kernow Storm FC’s favor as they got support from goals based upon Angel Medel, Brian Robertson, and Chase Robertson.

“This is the kind of games the players live for. The never say never attitude from both teams showcases what the UPSL is about. The guys just want to showcase their talent and put on a show. I’m really proud we were able to get a result against a strong Irving team.” Kernow Storm FC Head Coach, Hector Ponce said.

Coming from an upsetting loss in their season opener, Kernow Storm FC had the urgency to turn things around as they scored  to take an early 1-0 lead on behalf of Angel Medel who tapped it into the net in the 17th minute of the game. In addition, Brian Robertson was another key element to the second goal as he made no mistake on the penalty spot right before the halftime .

Being down 2-0 coming back from the break, Irving FC had the motive to take this game to their win column as Alfonso Ochoa scored in the 64th minute past the sliding goalkeeper and defender. Ten minutes later, Michael Gonzales equalized the game for Irving FC with a solo from the left side, cutting in the middle and taking an amazing long shot to hit the back of the net.

With the score being tied going into the end of the game, Chase Robertson made the difference by releasing a rocket from a set piece to put Storm FC in advance once again in the 82th minute. Irving FC was then pushing more pressure on Storm FC's half but failed to score another equalizer.

After taking a loss in their first matchup together, Irving FC looks to even things up, meanwhile Kernow Storm FC wants to stay hot as the two would face each other again this upcoming Saturday, April 13 at 7:30 PM CT in Midlothian Community Stadium.
